Robin Thicke took to the X Factor stage tonight making his début with a performance of his it song ‘Blurred Lines’.
The single is taken from his 2013 album of the same name and last week it was named Britain’s best selling single of 2013 so far.
The performance was a little less raunchy than the VMAs where he performed with Miley Cyrus, and thank goodness otherwise the OFCOM telephone lines would not have stopped ringing in the morning.
However the song hasn’t been without it’s fair share of controversy and it has already been banned by a number of student unions and been criticised in the media for being apparently offensive and derogatory towards women, also for it’s controversial lyrics such as ‘I know you want it’ and ‘let me liberate ya’.
In recent weeks Robin has claimed that the song is actually about his actress wife Paula Patton and the controversy certainly hasn’t affected Blurred Lines’ popularity.
