Music mogul and X Factor creator Simon Cowell is reported to be planning a comeback to the ITV show here in the UK.
It is expected that Cowell will join the live shows later this year as a fifth judge but owing to his commitments with The X Factor USA, he is unlikely to be physically in the UK studios.
Last week Cowell teased: “I’m definitely getting more involved and will have a role in the next series.”
He added: “I’m not going to lie – I do miss doing it, because it’s like my baby.”
Speaking to the Daily Mirror this weekend, a source claimed: “Simon will be appearing via a video link. The finalities are yet to be decided but he will be filmed live for the show. The aim is that he can be on the UK version every week but there will be restrictions as he will be very busy in the States mentoring his US acts.
“Simon knows that the viewers in the UK want him back on the show and he wants to make the tenth anniversary of The X Factor really special.”
“Without being arrogant, he knows that if he is on the show, it will get higher ratings. He has made no secret of the fact that he wants to be a judge on both versions but it would mean travelling thousands of miles each week. It is impossible.”
“He is working to find a decent compromise. He will still have his panel of four judges but he will be the extra factor.”
The line-up of the four judges for this year’s show is still to be confirmed but it I expected that we will see the return of last year’s judging panel once again.
