2011 X Factor Semi Finals Live Show 9: Little Mix takes on If I Were a Boy by Beyonce.

For us, Little Mix has been the success story of X Factor 2011. At the start of the competition, not many people – including us – would have held out much hope of them passing the half way stage of the live shows, given the record of girl groups on the show. But here they are in the semi finals, and fully deserve to be there too.

Tonight they performed two songs to try to impress us once again in their bid to go all the way and win the contest at the Wembley Arena next week.

Their song choices are: You Keep Me Hanging On by The Supremes and If I Were a Boy by Beyonce.
We loved their rendition of the Beyonce track! This is a very difficult song to sing and although it was not perfect, Little Mix did it justice.

Louis Walsh: I remember ten years ago on a stage like this Girls Aloud were born. You are little like them and the Sugababes. I didn’t like your first performance but you have amazing potential and if you work hard, get the styling right you have such potential. But it wasn’t perfect.

Gary Barlow: For a semi final act these vocals aren’t good enough tonight. You have had a bad night and I need to remind people how good you have been throughout this competition, to get on your phones and vote for these girls.
