Yes, it is Motown week on The X Factor and the five remaining contestants will have to produce their very best to make it into the semi finals.
Last week’s movie themed week was for us the best show of the season so far. It was sad to see Craig Colton go because his was not the worst performance on the night, but on a night where everyone upped their game, someone good was always likely to go.
This week’s theme was revealed on the ITV This Morning program, and we are always a little sceptical when the themes are revealed on that program because come Friday we here that it has been changed.
However, it is an interesting theme to choose considering that it has been a few years since it last appeared on The X Factor. The problem with this theme though is that it could deliver a lot of bad performances, so we would like to have seen it earlier in the competition. At this point in the process we want to see the best from each contestant and we doubt if this is the theme to deliver that.
While the likes of Marcus Collins and Misha B will surely flourish, it’s going to be a tough week for the likes of Janet Devlin.
Motown last appeared on The X Factor back in 2006, where the show’s most successful winner Leona Lewis belted out “I’ll Be There’ to close the show.
However this week the remaining singers will be performing two tracks each, so there might well be a second theme yet to immerge for Saturday Night. Let’s hope its Big Band, we love that!
