2011: X Factor Week 2 Song Theme Revealed

ITV has revealed that this week’s theme for the second live show of the series, will see the judges choose songs that fit with a Love & Heartbreak theme.

Last week, the X Factor acts had to perform music from both sides of the Atlantic, as part of the UK VS US theme. This theme was perhaps not the best choice for 4 contestants – James Michael, Jonjo Kerr, Amelia Lily and 2 Shoses – as they were all eliminated by their mentors.

This week the final 12 contestants will face the public vote for the first time, after they pull at our heart string with what must be a show full of ballads given the theme. I just hope someone finds an up-tempo number; otherwise the nation may fall asleep.

On Sunday’s results show, the guest performances will be provided by The Wanted and Katy Perry.
