Last year the X Factor gave us One Direction, and for us they had everything going for them except they were vocally not very strong, but like a lot of people out there, we simply loved them.
This year just when we thought One Direction is as good as it is going to get as far as judges making boy bands are concerned, Tulisa came up with The Risk!
After their first ever live performance last night, we are pretty excited about this group.
The four piece boyband – made up of Charlie Healy, Andrew Merry, Derry Mensah and Ashley J Baptiste – took to the X Factor stage and give a very impressive rendition of ‘She Said’ by ‘Plan B.’ See there performance in the video below.
Before singing, the boys admitted that they had a tough job in gelling together so quickly and had spent hours every day working on their harmonies and working out everyone’s range.
There is no doubt in our minds that these guys are vocally strong, and for us Tulisa’s gamble paid off. Can’t wait to see what they are going to do next week.
JUDGES COMMENTS:
Tulisa Contostavlos: This is why I made the decision that I made at judges houses. We’ve seen it tonight, we’ve seen the reaction and the performance, it was amazing. What different about you guys, there is no cheese with you, you are all credible musicians. Some of you write, you play, this ia a credible boyband. Well done guys.
Kelly Rowland: I am so happy that the four of you are here because what you bring to the table as individuals is really great but as a group I am so excited to watch you, Tulisa you’d better keep them in this competition. I am so excited!
Louis Walsh: This is a risk that has so paid off. I love this band, everybody brings something, Charlie this is your time, you so deserve it. We have JLS, we had One Direction, now we have The Risk. |

Gary Barlow: Boys, Tulisa, now this is a band right here. I am so pleased that it’s not all centred around Charlie. Everyone found their line and it was really well put together. Tulisa this is proper mentoring going on here and this is what we thought you’d bring to this competition, the edge, the cool the right song choice, boys you’ve got it all well done.
