Joseph Whelan will be hoping lightning does not strike twice at bootcamp and see him make another early exist from The X Factor at the bootcamp stage as he did last year.
At bootcamp this year, the emotions of the occasion seem to have got to the singer as he struggles to hold back the tears both before and after his performance.
The emotional rocker decided to entertain the panel with a stripped back acoustic version of ‘Iris’ by GooGoo Dolls. After his rendition Gary Barlow said:
“OK Joseph your lower octave is very weak right now and you need to work on that.”
Sharon told the young dad to stop crying and insisted:
“I need people in my category that are going to be strong. I don’t want wimps, I need balls.”
