Zayne Malik singing Kiss Me and Nicole Scherzinger duet with Jahmene Douglas hampered by micro phone failure on The X Factor

One Direction Zayne Malik and X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger were left frustrated at this year’s X Factor finals when their micro phones failed.

Nicole performed with both her acts Jahmene Douglas and James Arthur on Saturday the first day of The X Factor finals and all was going well until her duet with Jahmene Douglas when her microphone died on her.  But the professional that she is, she managed to improvise by sharing Jahmene’s microphone and went on to deliver a brilliant performance.

However, after their performance her frustration was written all over her face for all to see.

Meanwhile,  One Sunday Zayn Malik suffered a similar fait during his performance of  Kiss Me with his band One Direction on Sunday the second day of The X Factor finals. He too was let down by microphone phone problems during his solo part of the song, but like a trouper he continued as though nothing had happened.

It is surprising that the richest show on television can’t afford microphones that work properly. May be austerity has caught up with the X Factor, or possibly no one bothered to check that all the mics were working before the show, but whatever the reason, I guess performers must expect the unexpected during a live show.
