2011: One Direction Impressed on their return to The X Factor stage

One Direction made a welcomed return to the X Factor stage this evening performing their latest single.

The boyband created on the X Factor last year with band members, Niall Horan, Louis Tomlinson, Harry Styles, Liam Payne and Zain Malik finished third in the competition.

Their debut single ‘What Makes You Beautiful’ outsold all the other contestants that appeared on the show last year and tonight they performed their new single ‘Gotta Be You’ and judging by their performance and the track, it looks as though they will have another hit on their hands.

We have been quite used to hearing Liam and Harry on lead vocals and they were great tonight, but  it was quite refreshing to hear and see young Zain Malik vocally. He sounded great too, but needs a hair cut.

After the performance, Harry Styles admitted that it was ‘amazing’ to return, saying:

This studio is like home for us and it felt amazing to be back today!

On who they are backing to win the show, Louis added:
