Lisa Faulkner mac and cheese with vegetarian frankfurters hot dogs and caramelised onion recipe on John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen

Lisa Faulkner and John Torode served up tasty mac and cheese with vegetarian frankfurters hot dogs and caramelised onion on John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen.

The ingredients are: 2 large brown onions, sliced, 300g macaroni, 50g butter, 50g plain flour, 500ml cold milk, 1 tsp mustard powder, 100g dijon mustard , ½ vegetarian stock cube, 300g grated cheese (any leftover cheese e.g. Cheddar), A good splash of Worcester sauce (or vegetarian alternative), 65g panko breadcrumbs, 1 packet of bocconcini , 8 frankfurters, vegetarian or regular, A good squirt of mayonnaise, tomato ketchup and English mustard, to serve and 6 sub rolls.
