This evening in a tense and nervous first public vote results show, Nu Vibe became the first contestants to be illuminated from the competition.
Nu vibe was created at Bootcamp by the judges from five boys who failed to make it as solo acts. Tonight they found themselves in the bottom two with Frankie Cocozza.
In the sing-off Nu Vibe kicked things off with a rendition of Cheryl Cole’s Promise This. It was yet another disappointing performance from the band and band member Bradley dissolved into tears before his bandmates had even sang their last note.
The song was followed by Frankie’s version of Red by Daniel Merriweather. His performance was disappointing too. He struggle vocally and he his now looking very vulnerable in the competition.
After both performances, it was over to the judges to cast their vote. They said:
Gary Barlow: Wow, I can’t believe I’m looking at Frankie and hopefully if you’re here next week it’s a long time before you’re singing a survival song again. I send home Nu Vibe.
Kelly Rowland: This is so hard, the cat I’m sending home is Nu Vibe.
Tulisa Contostavlos: It’s pretty obvious, it’s a shame your both here tonight bu the act I’m sending home is Frankie.
Louis Walsh: It’s tough neither act had a good night last night, it’s very tough guys but I’ll save the act with the most potential in the competition. I’m going to have to send home Nu Vibe.
An early end for the lads, but it was always going to be tough for them following in the foot steps of One Direction.
