2011 Live Shows 1 Results: Jonjo Kurr axed by Louis Walsh

On the first live show of the series, Louis Walsh sent home Jonjo Kurr as a result of the X Factor Big Twist.

The decision must come as a relieve to X factor bosses because on last night’s show Gary Barlow had promised that he would leave the show if Sami Brookes was axed by Louis.

However, on The Xtra Factor last night, Walsh admitted that he didn’t want to see the Take That star leaving the show, so it was pretty clear cut that Sami was save.

Louis Walsh announced first that both Sami and kitty were through to next week and both women bounded off the stage, to hug their mentor, though while the former was greeted with cheers from the audience, Brucknell was jeered and booed by the crowd.

Eventually, Walsh announced that he was keeping Johnny and Jonjo knew then that his number was up. Walsh explained:

“This was not easy, I agonized over it but at the end of the day I have to keep the person the public like most.

I know it’s been tough but I had to send somebody home, I changed my mind twice.”
