Having failed to make the live shows last year, the Scunthorpe singer managed to make is dream come true this time around.
Tonight he sings for the judges Simon Cowell, Mel B, Louis Walsh and Cheryl Fernandez-Versini once again but it will be the millions at home who will determine how long he will stay in the competition.
On social networking site Twitter, Jake, 26, said: “Today’s the day…. Excited isn’t the word!! Wanna thank everyone this week, it’s been amazing.”
