Lorna Simpson has been accused of lacking star quality earlier in the competition, but against all the odds she made it to the live shows and must not prove her doubters wrong.
The talented singer has been tipped as one of the favourites to leave the show tomorrow night but one good performance tonight could change all that.
Lorna is one of the three ladies in the Overs category this year mentored by Sharon Osbourne. Ealier this week it was revealed that Sharon’s close friend and music legend Sir Elton John, gave his backing to Sam and the two other ladies – Shelley Smith and Sam Bailey – in the competition this year.
Tonight Lorna sang ‘So Emotional’ but for us it was a bad song choice. The song did not allow her to sparkly and we feel she really need to performance like Sam Bailey if she is to avoid the bottom two tomorrow night.
This is what the judges made of her performance:
NICOLE SCHERZINGER: Lorna you have got to watch your pitch. I didn’t really remember you from before but when you came out you filled the entire place with your voice and I was like ‘this is a diva in the making.’
LOUIS WALSH: To sing a Whitney song you have to be a great singer, I think you have a very powerful disco voice. You hit every single note.
GARY BARLOW: The first 30 seconds of that song your pitch was all over the place but then when the beat kicked in you really got the hang of it. You knocked it out of the park for me tonight. A little more control is needed.
SHARON OSBOURNE: You were a bit unsure but when your confidence kicked in you were brilliant!
