After splitting from her band mates at her first audition, Hannah Sheares returns to the X Factor and gave her first solo public performance in front of 4000 people.
The 17 year old shop assistant from Birmingham originally auditioned as part of girl band ‘Daisy Chains’ with two of her best friends. However, things did not go according to plan because the judges said no to the group but offered Hannah a place in the arena auditions as a soloist.
Before her performance of Skyscraper by Demi Lovato at Wembley Arena, Hannah admits:
“My heart sank, I was just gutted. I have made a sacrifice to lose my best friends for this. It hasn’t actually clicked, what I am doing today. It’s a big audience, I don’t want to let the judges down.”
“I am so scared.”
“I just feel guilty, they are my best friends. we haven’t really spoken since.”
However, her performance wins Gary Barlow over and he says:
“You are so much better on your own, it wasn’t perfect today by any means and you’ve got to now get the confidence to move forward. What a great start though, well done.”
Nicole Scherzinger adds:
“You made the right decision and this is where you are supposed to be right now, good job. There is a lot of work to do because the girls category is growing stronger.”
