Crissie Rhodes from Bedfordshire, brought her country music tones to the X Factor arena auditions singing a stripped back version of the disco classic Young Hearts Run Free by Candi Staton.
This is the first time we have heard a version of this song sang in this way, and just like most of the 4000 people in the Wembley arena, we loved it, and so it would seem did all the judges.
After Crisse’s performance Nicole raved about the singing and told her that she had been captivated by her performance. She explained:
“It was just beautiful, it was effortless and my favourite part of that audition was when I didn’t hear one soul, they were right there with you.”
Gary Barlow called it ‘amazing’
Sharon Osbourne said that Rhodes had made the right decision in holding back from attempting a music career previously.
