When the Daisy Chains auditioned for the X Factor this year, the one thing they could not have expected is that they would be split up before their career as even began.
Before their audition, Kari, 21, Hannah, 17 and Laura, 19 told Dermot O’Leary:
“We are best friends, we’ve been playing live together for about five years. The relationship between us is just mad. we have got good chemistry because we have been singing together for so long, We’ve got to get in there, show them what we’ve got and hopefully get a yes!”
The group performed ‘Stop In The Name Of Love’ by the Supremes for the panel but it did not go down as well as they would have liked
Gary Barlow told them:
“I don’t think there is an easy way to say this, Hannah I think you have the potential to go far, but on your own.”
He continued:
“You can have friends but this is serious stuff. This is your career, this is something that could last for the rest of your life. and I am not going to be the one at this point to say what you should do but if you really are as good friends as you’re telling us, I think your two friends would understand and they’d be ok with it.”
Nicole Scherzinger agreed and said:
“I am going off vocals, Hannah is the strongest vocalist and she has the strongest tone and right now she is carrying the group.”
The young singer couldn’t make her mind up, confessing:
“I feel torn to be honest. I love the girls with all my heart.”
After much discussion between the group members, Shears decided to go it alone and told the panel:
“I have made the decision that I am going to do it by myself and it’s been horrible. I don’t want to lose either of them and I feel really selfish I have had to do it for myself, my family and my dream.”
