Abi Alton from Guisborough, near Middlesborough, a Morrisons employee, brought a bit of country to The X Factor auditions and impressed with her performance.
It is not often we get to hear country music on The X Factor, and on previous occasions where we have seen contestants performing country on the show, they rarely leave a lasting impression on the judges.
However, 18-year-old Abi hopes to change all that. She performed her version of Travelling Soldier by Dixie Chicks for the judges at her first audition and it seems to have struck a chord with the panel, of Louis Walsh, Nicole Scherzinger, Sharon Osbourne and Gary Barlow.
Abi, who currently works in a part time job on the checkouts at Morrisons, says her dad is her best friend and her biggest supporter.
Gary Barlow tells the teen after her audition: “You are totally what this show needs.”
