This week The X Factor last three acts – James Arthur, Christopher Maloney and Jahmene Douglas were invited to Downing Street to perform ahead of this weekend live finals in Manchester.
The contestants were invited to the Prime Ministers residents to switch on the Christmas tree lights outside number 10 and to perform a Christmas Carol for a group of school children.
Prime Minster David Cameron welcomed the X Factor contestants and mentor and X Factor judge Nicole Scherzinger . In attendance were also families with children suffering from terminal illness that are supported by the Together For Short Lives Charity.
Speaking at the event David Cameron said:
“Together for Short Lives is a fantastic charity which helps make a real difference to seriously ill children and their families. It’s great that they will be benefitting from the X Factor charity single again this year and I enjoyed meeting with some of the children they help and their families and carers before we turned on the Downing Street Christmas lights. I hope the support from the X Factor helps Together for Short Lives and the charities they support reach even more families.”
On Saturday James Arthur, Christopher Maloney and Jahmene Douglas will go head to head in The X Factor finals to see who will be crowned the winner and land the one million pound record contract.
