The newest group on The X Factor this year Union J, gave a very impressive debut performance at judges’ houses in Las Vegas.
The group is made up of the three boys from Triple J – Jamie Hamblett (JJ) 24, Josh Cuthbert 20 and Jaymi Hensley 22. The boys were then joined by George Shelley 19 after bootcamp to make the new band Union J.
Both Triple J and George Shelley impressed at their first audition but while Triple J went on to shine at bootcamp, George was cut from the competition in the early rounds.
The newly formed group set out to impress mentor Louis Walsh and former X Factor judge Sharon Osbourne at judges’ houses.
The group performed Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepsen, with Louis reacting: “With a bit of work Sharon, they could be fantastic.”
But Sharon homed in on their weaknesses, and said: “A couple of them have picked up really novice bad habits.”
For us, we thought they were the best group on tonight’s show and we also think they are just the type of band Louis Walsh could make a real success. So we would be very surprised if they are not in his final three.
