Jade Collins impressed the judges at her X Factor 2012 audition with a Beyonce track

Singer Jade Collins from Belfast impressed The X Factor judging panel at her audition singing a Beyonce classic track.

The 17-year-old who auditioned in Glasgow said: “I started singing when I was back in school probably about 8 or 9. I would always be interested more in in music than anything else.

“I’ve came to The X Factor because I’ve watched it for years and years and I want this to be my day job this is what I want to do. I live at home with my mummy, my sister and my two younger brothers.”

Jade’s mum adds: “Jade’s been practicing morning, noon and night, she holds a wee part time job so in between that and going to school every minute she’s been just practice, practice, practice, it makes me really proud of her.”

It’s not been easy growing up for Jade, who reveals: “My daddy’s been in prison ever since I can remember. I just want him to be here and he can’t be here, I can’t change that and I never can. Today’s audition is so important, this could really, really change things in my life, I’d just be much happier if my daddy was here to see this.

Jade performs Sweet Dreams by Beyonce for the judges and crowd, to get many in the audience and on the panel in tears.

After her performance, Louis Walsh said: “Jade, you are so wrong and you are so emotional, it’s like you’ve got so much pain inside.”

Gary Barlow: “Jade I’m going to tell you off slightly, you didn’t warm up properly this morning; you were struggling with some of the high notes.”

Tulisa added: “Jade we always look for a spark when someone steps on stage, where you just go there is something here and it’s something special and I saw that in you today.”

Guest judge Anastacia told the teenager: “You are 17 and you have so much passion in your heart.”
