The X Factor auditions have only just got started on our TV screens but already one young hopefully have got an iTunes hit single on her hands.
Singer-songwriter Lucy Spraggan appeared on ITV show at the weekend and performed her self-penned track ‘Last Night’ in front of the judges.
The 20-year-old explained that the song was about “beer fear”, the worry of waking up the morning after a night of heavy drinking.
As of Sunday evening, ‘Last Night’ has climbed up to number three in the iTunes download chart, below Sam and the Womp’s ‘Bom Bom’ and last year’s X Factor winners Little Mix.
Spraggan self-released ‘Last Night’ on her album Top Room at the Zoo last year.
She tweeted earlier today: “Number 5. You lot are absolutely amazing. #beerfear.”
The singer made it through to the bootcamp stage of the show, so we can expect to hear more from Lucy in the coming weeks.
Lucy’s track is also available from Amazon.
