Months of speculation over who would be hosting the Xtra Factor was finally come to an end as ITV announced that Olly Murs the 2009 X Factor runner-up would join forces with Caroline Flack on the show.
The pair will front the new series of the ITV2 spin-off show after Konnie Huq got the axe earlier this year.
Olly Murs finished The X Factor in second place back in 2009, behind Joe McElderry. Despite narrowly missing out in the final, Olly has gone on to have great success including a number one single and a top 10 debut album.
Caroline Flack has already had experience hosting reality spin off shows, having presented I’m a Celebrity Get Me out of Here! on ITV2.
Critics have said the paring is a odd choice because Olly Murs have no previous experience in telly presenting. Many believe the ‘F Factor’ host Matt Edmondson would have been a more obvious choice.
The duo will be in Birmingham for the first auditions of The X Factor with new judges Kelly Rowland, Tulisa Contostavlos and Gary Barlow. Louis Walsh will also return to the panel.
