Janet Devlin has become the latest contestant to be voted off the X Factor this series. The singer from Northern Ireland found herself in the bottom two alongside Misha B who was in the bottom two for the third time.
In the sing off, Janet performed Snow Patrol’s ‘Chasing Cars’ while Misha opted to sing ‘Here On My Own’ by Irene Cara.
For us Janet did and OK job of her song, but Misha B blew hers out of the park, making it the third such performance in a row in the bottom two.
It was then down to the judges to decide their fate.
Louis Walsh said: “It’s getting tougher and tougher, the final is two weeks away. I’m judging on last night’s two performances and sing-off tonight and I’m picking the person who wants this the most so the act I’m sending home is Janet.”
Tulisa said: “’I’m going to base my decision on yesterday’s performances and today’s sing-off and the person who is going to sell records and sell out arenas, so the act I’m sending home is Janet.”
Mentor to both acts, Kelly Rowland said: “I just know how great these two young ladies are. I’ve watched them grow over the weeks and I know how much they want it. I admire you as a musician, Janet, and the fact you bring something unique to the music industry. I absolutely love you and adore you.
“Misha, my goodness girl, you want it so bad. To be honest I can’t make a decision. I can’t, I have to pass it, I have to.”
As a result, regardless of what Gary may have voted for, Janet was eliminated.
Speaking to Dermot after, Gary said he’d have sent Janet home anyway.
