2011: Zain Malik and his One Direction Band mates back Little Mix

Zain Malik and his One Direction band mates have given their backing to Little Mix in this year’s X Factor competition.

Little Mix, who have so far avoided the bottom two for six weeks – a record for a girl group on the X Factor – seem to be gaining plenty of fans!

Not only are One Direction backing the girl group, but yesterday’s eliminated contestant Kitty Brucknell is backing the girls also.

Speaking on Xtra Factor, the boys said: “We’re gonna say Little Mix but people have to get behind them. In the past, it’s been a case of people think they’re good enough to get through.”

The boys added: “They’ve changed the X Factor girl band thing up a bit, they’ve put on some good, big performances. They’re being who they are.
