Myles Evans sings High Hopes on The Voice UK auditions while Laverne Scott-Roberts close the show with Explosions

Trainee Lawyer Myles Evans auditioned for The Voice UK after his sister filled in his application without telling him. Now Myles wants to win the show for his sister. The 26 year old sang ‘High Hopes’ and this was his first public performance.

Closing the show this evening is 31-year-old Laverne Scott-Roberts. The mum of four tells the camera that it’s the first time she’s stepped out on stage in ten years. She explains:

“When I was 18 years of age I was in a girl band with two other girls. We got a development deal and we were having a lot of fun with each other and it was great. I then fell pregnant with my first little boy.”

Laverne went on to impress singing ‘Explosions’ by Ellie Goulding for the panel.

Although Laverne told the panel she does not do any singing – apart from around the house annoying her children – she previously auditioned for Pop Idol in 2001 along with Gareth Gates and Wil Young when she was 19 years old.

She also auditioned for the X Factor in 2011 and caused a bit of a dispute between Gary Barlow and Tulisa as they disagreed over her talent.

However, after her performance tonight, it was Sir Tom Jones who was the happier of the judges, as Laverne chose the Night of the Realm to be her coach.
