Ant McPartlin and Declan Donnelly have presented Britain’s Got Talent ever since the series started 9 years ago and although the dynamic duo presents other shows on ITV, Britain’s Got Talent for us is their best. Today the pair revealed that they’d love to be knighted by the Queen to become Sir Ant and Sir Dec!

However, speaking to the Daily Mirror the presenters acknowledge that they may have to wait a long time for the honor, if Sir Bruce Forsyth is anything to go by.

Of the prospect of being knighted, Dec said, “That would be nice wouldn’t it?” And Ant, added, “We think you should start a campaign…”

He continued, “We have met the Queen once or twice and we have met Prince Charles quite a few times as we are Ambassadors for the Prince’s Trust.

“We get on with him well. But poor old Brucie had to wait until he was 80-odd, so we have a while to wait!”

Ant and Dec began their career as child actors in television as PJ and Duncan in the popular BBC television series Biker Grove. They later went on to have a short-lived career as pop stars and released the track ‘Let’s Get Ready to Rumble’ before launching into their TV presenting role.
