Britain’s Got Talent 2011: Impressionist Les Gibson Takes On Ant and Dec

Les Gibson

41 year old impressionist Les Gibson, entertained viewers tonight with a brilliant impression of none other than Ant and Dec among others.

Explaining his story before going on stage, he said: “At school I was quite shy, the other kids would be going off having a sly fag behind the bike sheds and I used to impersonate all the teachers for them. I started doing talent competitions, local ones in Liverpool, and then I started doing the holiday parks.

He continued: “I’m working for myself right now and it can be a very insecure job, it’s hard work, driving up and down the country, wondering where the next gig’s coming from. There’s times when there isn’t as many gigs as usual, you never know what’s around the corner.”

Gibson certainly reminds us of Paul Burling who did very well in Britain’s Got Talent last year and went on to host is own TV show.

Tonight Les Gibson also impersonated Ross kemp, Alan Sugar and for us his best was Coronation Street’s Kevin Webster.

Michael McIntyre, a stand up comic by trade, laughed throughout – which has got to be a good sign for Les -and afterwards said:

“I really enjoyed it. It was brilliant to take on Ant and Dec. I don’t know what was funnier, how great you were or the fact that David Hasselhoff has no idea who any of those people were.”

David laughed then said:

“I didn’t understand a word you were saying but I enjoyed it.”

Amanda loved it all and concluded:

“Well done Les. I’m delighted for you because I thought you were fantastic.”
