Coming into the first semi-finals of Britain’s Got Talent 2013, Arisxandra Libantino was tipped as one of the bookies favourties to walk away with the £250,000 cash prize and to appear at the Royal Albert Hall to perform for the queen.
Tonight Arisxandra took on a Whitney Houston power ballad ‘I Have Nothing’ from The Bodyguard soundtrack and did the song justice for one so young.
After her performance, Simon Cowell used Libantino’s performance to hit back at Strictly Come Dancing star Bruce Forsyth, who recently suggested that kids should not be on BGT. He said:
“If you’ve got it, you’ve got it, who cares how old you are? I had a great time listening to you tonight. It was one of the best performances of the night and I’d like to dedicate this one to Bruce [Forsyth].”
David Walliams said: You blew the roof off the joint, that was incredible. If you have a talent like yours you have to share that with the country. You are world class.
Amanda Holden: You were so steely, you tore the place up, you had a standing ovation at the end. You came into your own at the end. I hope they vote for you.
Alesha Dixon: That is not an easy thing to do, I really admire you. I could tell you were nervous but once you got into the flow of it and your vocals opened up you were on fire.
