Band of Voices – Andy Playfoot 47, Louise Bagan 27, Katie Holmes 29, Craig Stein 28 and Lloyd Wade 45 from London and Hertfordshire brought their a game to the Britain’s Got Talent 2013 audition earlier this year.
The group’s rendition of Jessie J’s Price Tag wowed the judges – Simon Cowell, Alesha Dixon, Amanda Holden and David Walliams – with the gospel theme they brought to the track.
After their performance Alesha Dixon raves:
“You got me so excited and I just fell in love with you. I love the fact that the girls took it to church, the girls both of you are so strong, your vocals are sensational and you’ve got this gorgeouschocolatey lovely little tone on the end there. I just think you’re fantastic.”
David Walliams was a fan too and added:
“I think when you’re all you know looking at each other and your voices are blending and you really feel like a group that’s really magic. So I loved it. I loved it. I can’t wait to hear you sing another song.”
The group then offered to sing their own version of the British national anthem ‘God Save The Queen’ which Simon Cowell agreed to and their performance blew the judges away.
After the encore the music mogul said:
“I love you guys. I think now is a time when people really, really appreciate great vocals. There’s not a band like this on the market at the moment. Very, very impressive. Really good.”
Amanda Holden said:
“I don’t know if God Save The Queen has ever been a single but I reckon the way we all feel about our Queen and this country at the moment it would probably go straight to number one.”
