29-year-old music teacher Aliki Chrysochou stole the show when she wowed the judges with performance at her Britain’s Got Talent audition.
Aliki who is originally from Cyrus, revealed that she was diagnosed with a rare inflammatory neurological disease named focal encephalitis a few years ago leading to the loss of all co-ordination, speech and movement. Her mother had to make many sacrifices to look after her until she recovered.
When Aliki took to the BGT stage, she performed a stunning version of Evanescence’s ‘Bring Me To Life’ that wowed the judges.
Amanda Holden raved:
“Oh my goodness me. I can’t imagine what your mum must be thinking, because that’s practically an anthem for her. The words bring me back to life, hear my voice. It was amazing! So congratulations.”
David Walliams told her:
“When you came on I thought I hope your voice is as beautiful as how you look, and it was. It was incredible.”
Alesha Dixon said:
“You’re inspiring so many people, you will. I’m so glad you came here today.”
Simon Cowell concluded by saying:
“Well you just have a natural talent Aliki you know. That lyric was so poignant and there’s something about your energy Aliki that is just incredible.”
