Britain’s Got Talent’s Jordan O’Keefe had a pleasant surprise at the weekend when he received a surge in Twitter followers after One Direction’s Niall Horan tweeted his support for the BGT singer.
O’Keefe whose audition was broadcast on Saturday night, was one of the stand-out acts on the night that left the judges thrilled with excitement after his performance of the One Direction’s hit “Little Things”.
The 18 year-old form Northern Ireland wowed the panel with his version of the song and it prompted Simon Cowell to tell the singer:
“I absolutely loved it. I thought that was a very very, very clever version of the song. It would have been easy to just have done a straight copy. I think you’re a great performer, you look great and I predict very, very good things for you going forward. I like you.””
However, his performance also caught the eye of One Direction’s Niall Horan who previously met O’Keefe at The X Factor auditions in 2010.
Horan took to Twitter to praise his old posting:
“jordan o’keefe from bgt last night…first of all thanks for doin little things bro! and thats a serious you’ve got on ya bro!”
Jordan replied:
“@NiallOfficial No problem dude, it was a pleasure. Thanks man I really appreciate that. Try and get the rest of the lads to tweet if u can”
‘That would be amazing.’
The tweets resulted in a surge of followers for the BGT Irish singer who we will see competing in the live semi-finals next month.
