Simon Cowell is reportedly set to return to Britain’s Got Talent in 2012 to ensure the success of the hit ITV show.
The music mogul is also said to be pursuing actress Barbara Windsor to join him!
Cowell quit the show’s audition stages last year, only appearing in the live finals. However, according to The Mirror, The X Factor‘s drop in popularity has prompted him to make a BGT comeback.
The 52-year-old mogul is also said to be keen to bring in a fourth judge, and has asked former Eastenders and Carry On star Windsor to sign up.
An ITV source commented: “Simon wants to make it the biggest, most successful series yet. His presence will be a guaranteed ratings winner as he is so popular with viewers.
“Simon’s been focusing on US X Factor and viewing figures for his British shows have fallen. He won’t take chances with BGT.”
There are currently two vacancies on the panel after the departures of Michael McIntyre and David Hasselhoff. Only Amanda Holden is confirmed to be taking part so far, although she will not attend the auditions due to her pregnancy.
Dannii Minogue, David Walliams and Samantha Womack have all been linked with the show recently. A spokeswoman said: “We will announce the line up soon.”
