Scotland Yard Approached by Simon Cowell to Investigate Ronan Parke Allegations

Simon CowellIt has been reported that allegations have been made on the internet against Simon Cowell’s Syco label and Britain’s Got Talent finalist Ronan Parke.

According to The Sun today, Cowell has called in the police over what are being described as ‘cruel lies’.

The claims, which appeared on the internet in an anonymous posting two days ago, have spread over social networking websites and forums.

A source told The Sun : “These are cruel lies about a child pursuing his dream.”
The paper says that Cowell’s lawyers have made an official complain to the police under the Malicious Communications Act. The law, which was established in 1988, was originally intended to apply to messages sent via the post, but the act applies equally to online communications such as emails and messages on Twitter.

The source added: “It is disgusting to be so cruel to a 12-year-old child. The hunt is on for this person.”

The anonymous blogger – who claimed to be a disgruntled executive at Sony Music, the owners of Simon Cowell’s Syco company – suggested that Ronan Parke had been managed by Cowell for almost two years.

“The welfare of our contestants is paramount. We will not tolerate bullying of any kind,” a spokesperson for the show said last night.

In a statement, Syco strongly denied the allegations, saying: “There is no truth in this story whatsoever.

“Ronan first came to Syco/Sony’s attention when he entered this year’s competition. Syco/Sony Music will not hesitate to take whatever legal action is appropriate.”

Roan Parke’s mum has since defended her son by saying “This allegation is laughable. There is no truth in it what so ever”.

Scotland Yard confirmed to The Sun: “An allegation of malicious communications was made to Kensington and Chelsea police. The allegation is being considered.”
