Lisa Faulkner mac and cheese with breadcrumbs and leftover bolognese recipe on John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen

Lisa Faulkner and John Torode served up a tasty mac and cheese with milk and leftover bolognese on John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen.

The ingredients are: 300g macaroni, 50g butter, 50g plain flour, 500ml cold milk, 1 tsp mustard powder, ½ chicken stock cube, 300g grated cheese (any leftover cheese e.g. Cheddar, Parmesan, Stilton), a good splash of Worcester sauce and 65g breadcrumbs.

For the Bolognese sauce: 2tbsp sunflower or vegetable oil, 1 onion, finely chopped, 1 clove garlic, crushed, 1 tsp dried oregano, 1 tsp dried thyme, 1 tsp dried marjoram, 500g lean minced beef, 2 tbsp tomato puree, 1 tsp marmite, 1 large glass red wine, 400g tin chopped tomatoes, 1 dsp caster sugar, Salt and pepper.
