Nadiya Hussain cherry jam, almond and nutmeg tarts recipe

Nadiya Hussain served up cherry jam with almond and nutmeg tarts on Nadiya’s British Food Adventure.

Nadiya says: “The tarts are sweet, easy to make and have a hint of spice. They are great to make with children big and small.”

The ingredients for the tarts are: icing sugar, for dusting (approx. 20g)
500g shortcrust pastry, 150g cherry jam, ½ tsp ground nutmeg and 1 free-range egg, lightly beaten.

For the almond icing: 100g icing sugar, sifted, ¼ tsp almond extract and 20g toasted flaked almonds.
