Nigel Slater and Adam Henson kicked of their new food series this week on the BBC and it is a series that not only serves up some exciting recipes, but look at where our food comes from too.
Nigel and Adam join forces to sow, grow, rear and cook Britain’s favourite foods, from a working farm in the Cotswolds.
In this first episode, the duo look at how our busy lifestyles have meant Britain has lost touch with where our food comes from and the best ways to cook it.
The episode also explores the UK’s favourite red meat – beef – and the journey it takes from farm to our dinner plate.
However, no food series would be much good without a few good recipes thrown in and Nigel did not disappoint, making a number of dishes with beef at their core.
The dishes were:
Cotswold pudding
All-in-one rib roast with horseradish glaze
Cow crumble
Make and freeze lasagne
Sprouts, bacon and almonds.
