2011 Week 9: Amelia Lily took on Avril Lavigne in the Semi Finals Of The X Factor

Amelia and her mentor tonight chose – Ain’t No Mountain High Enough by The Supremes and I’m With You by Avril Lavigne – has the two songs that could see her through to the finals next week.

Her rendition of the Avril Lavigne track was totally enjoyable but Gary and Louis clashed over whether or not it was the best vocals of the night. Well, if it wasn’t the best it was certainly one of the best, but lets hope it was good enough to see her through to the finals next week.

Louis Walsh: That is the X Factor, that’s the best vocal performance of the night.

Gary Barlow: Louis, it wasn’t the vocal performance of the night, it was a good performance, it wasn’t amazing. The problem I have with yoiu is that you’re shouty loud voice cuts through beautifully but you still have to find your softer voice. Listen I could write a sheet full of stuff to tell you, but you are 17 and it’s amazing how you bounce back every week.
