This week is Children’s Book Week, and three leading figures in children literature, Sir Quentin Blake, Lauren Child, and Axel Scheffler, discuss illustrations in literature with Philip and Holly on This Morning.
From the imaginings of a grizzly bear / buffalo hybrid, to the creations of a weird and wondrous chocolate factory, children’s art becomes the iconic image we relate to our childhood stories.
Today also sees the opening of the world’s first centre dedicated to all forms of illustration founded by Sir Quentin Blake, who created the illustrations for Roald Dahl’s BFG and Matilda.
