Dimitar Berbatov scored the most casual of wonder goals for Monaco against Nice in the French football league

Dimitar Berbatov is one of the most casual of players but on his day he can be quite brilliant and Easter Sunday was that day.

In a match where his Monaco side beat local rival Nice one goal to nil in the French Ligue 1, the former Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United star showed why he was valued highly by these clubs.

In the match, Monaco took the lead after just five minutes when Berbatov delicately lobbed the ‘keeper, to put former Chelsea manager, Claudio Ranieri’s side in front, ensuring their Ligue 1 title hopes are still alive.

The 33-year-old Bulgarian made the French move earlier this year after being released by Fulham, after scoring 15 goals in his debut season for The Cottagers.
