Alexandra Burke, winner of The X Factor 2008 made a suprise appearance on the BBC reality TV show So You Think You Can Dance on Saturday night, as a guest judge during the first part of chorography camp.
The show saw the last of auditions followed by the 70 successful remaining acts given a hip hop challenge at chorography camp that resulted in their numbers reduced to 59.
Popstar Alexandra, who is known for her impressive and upbeat dance routines during her performances, joined the panel of Nigel Lythgoe, Arlene Phillips, Sisco Gomez and Louise Redknapp to give her critique.
Speaking to the camera before the show, the singer explained: “I look for a connection with myself and the dancer. For me, a trier always wins.”
During her stint on the panel Alex had some tough choices to make, as the judges decided which of the 70 remaining contestants didn’t have what it takes to continue onto Day 2 at chorography camp.
At the end of the session Alexandra said: “From what I have seen today, 40% of the dancers I would say, come and dance with me. Their genre is not hip hop, but there was magic in the room.”
So You Think You Can Dance continues next weekend as the remaining hopefuls battle it out to be named one of the show’s top 20 dancers.
