Mary Berry make a delicious lemon Madeira cake with candied peel on the Great British Bake Off Masterclass.

The ingredients for the candied peel: 1 unwaxed lemon, 200g granulated sugar and 100g caster sugar.

For the cake: 175g softened butter, 175g caster sugar, 225g self-raising flour, 50g ground almonds, 4 large free-range eggs and 1 large unwaxed lemon, finely grated zest only.
