Gregg Wallace makes a tomato ketchup sauce that proved a winner on Eat Well Or Less?
Gregg Wallace and Chris Bavin went head-to-head to uncover whether you can get value for money without compromising on quality, creating two different versions of fish & chips and a tomato ketchup to accompany their dish.
While Gregg used fresh ingredients for his ketchup, Chris used cheap ingredients from tins. There was therefore no surprise that at the taste test at Hastings Amateur Rowing Club, Gregg’s ketchup came out on top not just against Chris’ ketchup but also against market brands.
Gregg’s ingredients consisted of fresh tomatoes, chillies, red peppers, onions, cider vinegar, vegetable oil, sea salt, pepper, food colouring, sugar and ginger.
