John Torode and Lisa Faulkner served up a tasty turkey breast with bread sauce and gravy in a turkey masterclass on John and Lisa’s Weekend Kitchen.
The ingredients are: 4.5kg whole turkey ( Ask your butcher to remove the legs and thighs – leaving you with a crown, two legs and two thighs.),
100g salted butter, softened, 2 tsp sea salt, 2 tsp ground black pepper , 3 large onions, peeled and cut into large chunks, 2 large carrots, peeled and cut into large chunks, 2 large leeks, cut into large chunks, 1 litre chicken stock and 2 generous tbsp gravy granules.
For the bread sauce: 500ml milk , 1 medium onion, peeled and studded with a few cloves, 1 tsp peppercorns , 2 cloves, A small blade of mace or pinch of nutmeg , 120g fresh white breadcrumbs, 30g butter and Sea salt.
