Nadiya Hussain eight layers honey cake with toasted hazelnuts and soured cream recipe on Nadiya Bakes

Nadiya Hussain served up a delicious Russian honey cake with eight biscuit layers, crunchy toasted hazelnut crumbs and soured cream filling on Nadiya Bakes.

The ingredients are: 80g unsalted butter, 270g runny honey, 120g golden caster sugar, 2 free-range eggs, lightly beaten, 1 tsp bicarbonate of soda, 500g plain flour, sifted, plus extra for dusting and fresh berries, to serve.

For the filling: 600ml soured cream, 80g icing sugar, 250ml double cream, 65g runny honey and 1 tsp vanilla bean paste.

To decorate: 100g roasted hazelnuts, finely chopped and ½ tsp salt.
