The ingredients are: 4 tablespoons olive oil, 300g Italian pork sausages(optional), 2 small red onions, peeled and chopped, 3 garlic cloves, peeled and chopped, 2 carrots, peeled and chopped, 3 celery sticks, chopped, 1 potato, peeled and cut into 5mm cubes, Pinch of fennel seeds, crushed, 1 bay leaf, Pinch of dried chilli flakes, 2 fresh plum tomatoes, diced, 1x300g tin of plum tomatoes, 2 large handfuls of stale country-style bread, torn into chunks, 700ml hot vegetable stock, 1x400g tin of cannellini beans, rinsed and drained, 300g kale, leaves and stalks finely sliced, 6 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil, sea salt and freshly ground black pepper.
