Singing duo Mia and the Moon impressed the judges at their audition and became the first group through to bootcamp on The X Factor 2012.
The two sisters Laura and Mary-Ann told presenter Caroline Flack that they are singing in memory of a pet pigeon they once had.
Mary-Ann said: “Our mum has loved animals since she was tiny and we’ve always had random pets coming in and out. Anything from horses, to dogs, to birds of prey, to rodents. Anything and everything.”
Laura added: “A pigeon called Pickle.”
Mary-Ann continued: “Do you remember when Pickle and Leo the kitten played together? Really sad story though, because Pickle went outside one day, on his own, and I think he went up to another cat and thought that cat would be just as friendly, and that was the end of his life. He died.”
After their audition of Shackles by Mary Mary Louis Walsh told them:
“You sound amazing together,”
Gary raved: “You’re very talented girls and I think you did a great audition today.”
Mel B told the girls: “It had me mesmerised a bit, and I liked it.”
Louis then added: “You’re so different and so fresh, it’s like being at a festival.”
