Tulisa reveals N-Dubz will Take Time Out to Pursue Solo Projects

New X factor judge Tulisa Contostavlos has revealed her group N-Dubz will be taking a year out in order to peruse their own solo projects

Speaking to CFM, lead singer Tulisa confirmed she would  be releasing her own solo material away from the London grim band later this year.

Responding to questions from fans asking about the band’s status, Tulisa explained: “Basically it’s just been a time where we’ve said you know what we just want to do our own thing for a bit. You know when you’ve been in a band for eleven years none of us get to do what we want to do. No solo projects, no solo records.

“This was just our time where we said you know what let’s just have a year of doing our own stuff, different projects.

“Obviously at the time I didn’t know I was going to get the X Factor job, but got the X Factor job and was like brilliant.”

Tulisa told host Jojo she also wanted to experiment with acting, but insisted her singing was always going to come first. “I want to get on a bit of dance stuff. I’d love to work with someone like Swedish House Mafia, try something different,” she said.

“I also want to do acoustic things, just work from scratch with instruments whether it be strings or piano and just real melodic music. That’s what I’d like to do. Some nice ballads as well. Because that’s what I’m about really, growing up.”

The 22-year-old insisted N-Dubz would reunite in due course, adding: “We’ll be back and we’re always a part of the N-Dubz brand and we’re not going anywhere. It’s just basically a band, doing solo projects on the side. We’ve still got commitments coming up all summer. We’ve got festivals and we’ve got things to do.”
