Peter Jones from Dragons revealed on ITV This Morning that he wants to be the next British Prime Minister.
The business tycoon came to the ITV studios to promote his Search For a Child Entrepreneur program where he lends children as young as five a £1000 for them to try to make a return by creating a small business venture of their own.
But at the end of his promotion, presenter Holly Willoughby asked if he would ever follow in the footsteps of the US Apprentice star Donald Trump, who became Presidential candidate and won the election last week.
“I had never considered it at all until this week,” he confessed. “I’ve been to dinner and Charles Saatchi said, ‘you need to be the next Prime Minister because it can happen’.
“I didn’t think it would ever be anything I would consider at all.”
When Phillip Schofield picked up on his use of the past tense and pushed for clarity on whether he is seriously interested in becoming PM, Peter revealed: “I have to say probably yes. Tara, my other half, has been saying the last 48 hours, ‘come on, you should do it.’”
