John Torode’s royal tarts with custard recipe on This Morning

John Torode served up delicious volovants royal tarts with berries and custard as a celebration for the Queens 90th Birthday on This Morning.

The ingredients are: Two blocks of puff pasty, rolled out evenly to roughly 1 cm thick, 50g sugar and 10ml milk.

For the custard: 500ml milk, 1 vanilla bean, split, 4 egg yolks, 60g sugar, 20g cornflour and 20g plain flour.

For the fruit: 2 punnets of rasberries, 2 punnets of blueberries, Small handful of fresh mint, shredded, 100ml sparkling English wine and 30g sugar.

For the vanilla cream filling: 300ml whipping cream, 20g caster sugar and A few drops of vanilla essence.
